Starlink internet service, operated by SpaceX, will be provided for the UAE’s field hospital in southern Gaza to facilitate real-time video medical consultations, according to the UAE’s foreign ministry. Communication services in Gaza have experienced multiple disruptions, making it difficult for medical professionals to assist patients through video conferencing. The UAE has established good relations with Israel and operates one of the few field hospitals in Gaza. Starlink, a satellite network, can deliver high-speed, low-latency internet to areas with limited or no conventional internet access. The provision of Starlink services at the UAE’s field hospital was approved by Israeli security authorities.
