The labor union at Samsung Electronics in South Korea has declared an indefinite strike after a failed three-day walkout over pay and bonuses. This follows a strike earlier this week involving 6,000 workers from the company’s semiconductor division. The National Samsung Electronics Union (NSEU), representing a quarter of the company’s workforce, plans to launch the largest labor action in Samsung’s history on July 10. The union expressed confidence in the strike’s success, while Samsung Electronics stated its commitment to engaging in negotiations without disruptions to production lines. The dispute first arose in June, with workers demanding transparent pay structures and better working conditions. The workers are dissatisfied with the company’s perceived lack of performance bonus increases despite high operating profits.
