‘Too good to be true': Travelers score cheap first-class flights from Australia to US due to Qantas glitch
·1 min
For a brief period last Thursday, first-class round-trip airline tickets from Australia to the US were heavily discounted due to a coding error on Qantas’ website. About 300 lucky customers were able to purchase the tickets for as little as $3,400 each before the mistake was fixed. Qantas has decided not to cancel the tickets and instead will rebook the customers in business class at no extra cost. Passengers who are not satisfied with business class can request full refunds. This incident follows a similar error by Qantas last year that led to a lawsuit and a settlement of nearly $80 million. Other airlines have also faced similar pricing mistakes in the past.
